Panel Discussion on the 80th Anniversary Of Italian Women Gaining The Right to Vote in a National Election. The Italian Cultural Institute of New York and the National Organization of Italian American Women's Greater New York Region invite you to a panel discussion on the 80th anniversary of Italian women gaining their right to vote in a national election. The panel explores the resilience, strength and quiet determination of Italian women in post WWII era, as powerfully portrayed in the film C’e Ancora Domani.

Through thoughtful conversation, we will reflect on their pivotal role in the birth of the Italian Republic and the enduring lessons of courage, dignity and unity that continue to inspire today. A much needed discussion, now that women's rights are again at risk and there are lessons to be learned from women's participation in this extraordinary moment in Italian history.

Join us in conversation with Molly Tambor, Associate Professor of History at LIU and author of The Lost Wave: Women and Democracy in Post War Italy, Maria Laurino, author, essayist and journalist, and Laura Caparrotti, Founding Artistic Director of Kairos Italy Theater and of In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY. The panel will be moderated by Carolina Spera.
