Many of us are enthralled with the “One Bite” pizza rankings from “Barstool Sports” CEO Dave Portnoy — a man who goes around America, ranking pizza slice-by-slice. He’s even visited Staten Island a handful of times to try our signature pies. (And I thought my life was easy.) But between us: What does this guy really know about pizza?
I’m from Staten Island, where there are more pizzerias than people. That should be my job. So I took a trip with Giorgio Giove — owner of Pizzeria Giove in New Dorp and a three-time World Pizza Making Champion — back to his hometown of Bisceglie in Italy to rate authentic Italian pizza.
