Italian Heritage Parade ready to roll again in Worcester, MA. Who's the grand marshal?

By: Toni Caushi

Italian heritage will be at the forefront when the city's annual parade celebrating ancestry from the Mediterranean country rolls through Shrewsbury Street at noon Sunday, Oct. 5. On its fourth edition as the Shrewsbury Street Italian Heritage Parade, the celebration follows the longtime Columbus Day Parade, which was discontinued after 2018.

The lineup will feature about 50 groups, including high school bands, cheer teams, mascots, union groups and antique cars, said Jody Roberge, the secretary for the parade. Starting near the intersection of Belmont Street at noon, the parade will march down the westbound side of Shrewsbury Street and will end at Washington Square.
