Recent data confirm the scale of this system: about 1.25 million businesses in Italy are classified as artisan enterprises, representing roughly 21.3% of all companies nationwide.
These firms are not marginal players – they form the backbone of Italian manufacturing. In fact, artisan businesses account for about 58.5% of companies in the manufacturing sector, highlighting their central role in producing what is globally recognized as Made in Italy excellence.
