By: Furio Bondo

On Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, the Greater New Haven Italian-American Heritage Committee held a wreath presentation ceremony at 11 a.m. on the Green at Wooster Square Park in New Haven.

The program, presided over by committee Executive Board member Paul Criscuolo, opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a welcome from North Haven First Selectman Michael J. Freda. New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro then delivered remarks. Rev. Joseph MacNeill, chaplain of Saint Thomas More Chapel at Yale, blessed the wreath before it was presented.
