ITA Airways Reveals New Rome Lounge, Expands Nonstop U.S. Flights And Adds Hidden VIP Suites

By: Jim Dobson

Italy’s national airline is still fairly new. ITA Airways started in 2021 after Alitalia shut down, and it had to build its own identity during the pandemic. Now, four years later, the airline is making small improvements and focusing on details instead of big changes.

Now you can take a nonstop flight from the U.S. to Rome, which is a real comfort. You skip long delays and layovers and start to experience the Italian way of life even before you arrive. When I was in Rome, I met Joerg Eberhart, the CEO of ITA Airways, inside one of the airline’s hidden VIP suites at Fiumicino Airport.
