Stanislao Pugliese, Professor of History and the Queensboro Unico Distinguished Professor of Italian & Italian American Studies at Hofstra University, will present his newest book The Routledge History of Italian Americans, co-edited with William J. Connell. As controversy and debate rage over the statue of Columbus in New York City and the fate of Columbus Day generally, it is necessary that Italian Americans confront the dilemmas and paradoxes of Italian American history.
