The Illinois Italian American Judges Association will hold its 2026 installation of officers on Tuesday, September 15, bringing together members of the state’s judiciary for an evening combining professional fellowship, Italian American heritage and support for future law students.
The event will take place at the Elmwood Park Community & Recreation Center, located at 4 Conti Parkway in Elmwood Park, Illinois, just outside Chicago. A buffet dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by bocce at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $100 and include dinner, one drink ticket and bocce, although participants must register separately for the bocce competition. A combined dinner ticket and 2026 association dues costs $140, while annual membership dues alone are $50. Part of the proceeds from the evening will be used to support future scholarships for law students.
The Illinois Italian American Judges Association, or IIAJA, brings together current and former judges serving in Illinois. Membership is specifically limited to people who currently serve or have previously served as judges in the state.
The organization combines Italian American identity with a broader commitment to the legal profession. Its mission includes promoting public confidence in an independent and impartial judiciary, strengthening respect for the rule of law, encouraging judicial excellence and professional development, and supporting legal education.
At the same time, IIAJA promotes the ideals, traditions and culture of Italian heritage within the legal community and the administration of justice. The September 15 gathering reflects that dual mission – connecting Illinois’ Italian American judicial community while raising funds to help educate a new generation of legal professionals.
