More than 900 third graders from across Bell County recently took a trip around the world — without leaving Temple. The journey was part of the "Hands-On" program, an annual cultural education program organized by The Contemporaries in partnership with the Cultural Activities Center.
Now in its fourth decade, Hands-On has become a local tradition of cultural discovery, giving students the chance to explore a new country each year through interactive sessions in art, music, theater, and history. This year’s program — held from Sept. 9 through Oct. 2— focused on the rich culture and heritage of Italy.
