On behalf of the New York Conference of Italian American State Legislators, state Sen. Joseph Griffo and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon presented the Senator John J. Marchi Memorial Scholarship for Athletic Achievement to Alyssa Capuana. The scholarship totaled $3,000.
Capuana is a recent graduate of Notre Dame Junior/Senior High School, where she excelled academically and athletically. In the classroom, she has taken various AP and Honors courses, maintained a 4.0 GPA, ranked in the top ten of her class, was inducted into the National Honor Society and has earned several academic awards.
