‘Falling Through The New World’ explores Italian-American family saga

Author Cynthia Reeves spent two decades crafting her award-winning novel-in-stories “Falling Through the New World,” which traces four generations of an Italian-American family from World War I Italy to contemporary America.

Reeves says she her inspiration came from a fascination with her personal history as the American granddaughter of Italian immigrants and the events that spurred that history—World War I and the Spanish flu epidemic of 1918. The novel took her 20 years to write.
