Ex-Giants fan favorite Tommy DeVito gets $7.4 million Patriots payday after season as third-stringer

Tommy DeVito can afford all the cutlets he desires. The ex-Giants quarterback signed a two-year, $7.4 million extension with the Patriots that includes $2 million in guarantees, according to ESPN. DeVito just completed his first season in New England backing up Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs. He did not appear in a game during the team’s run to the Super Bowl.

The New Jersey native, known as “Tommy Cutlets,” appears to have comfortably — especially financially — settled into his life as a backup quarterback. DeVito appeared in 12 games and made eight starts for the Giants across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, which ironically played a role in why the Patriots landed Maye.
