Young women of Italian heritage are sought to give the annual Bravo Italiano Festival some additional cultural flavor. The 32nd annual festival is Friday, Sept. 16, and Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Italian-American Civic Association, 192 Bellew Ave.
The Miss Italia Pageant is at 7 p.m. Sept. 16. The winner receives a $1,000 scholarship and her "princess" is awarded $500. Last year, there was a limited number of contestants, said Kathleen B. Lettiere, Watertown, who has returned to direct the pageant this year following a hiatus. She directed the event beginning in 2000 for about a decade.
