No country has won more Best International Feature Film Oscars than Italy, but seeing its movies in a theater in Northeast Ohio can be a challenge. Enter Joyce Mariani, who launched the Cleveland Italian Film Festival in 2006 to showcase the best Italian cinema has to offer.
The event returns for its 20th anniversary this month with three films spanning comedy, drama and romance. “La Vita Va Cosi! (Life Goes Like This!)” kicks things off Sept. 10 at Cedar Lee Theatre in Cleveland Heights.
