Acclaimed jazz vocalist and composer Chiara Izzi brings her quartet to the Avram Theater at Stony Brook Southampton for the latest performance in The Jazz Loft @ Southampton Concert Series on Thursday, January 29, at 7 pm.
At the crossroads of samba, bossa nova and Italian song, the program celebrates the vibrant musical exchange between Brazil and Italy in the 1960s and 1970s. It features works by Brazilian masters such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dorival Caymmi and Djavan, alongside rarely heard Italian samba songs born from historic collaborations with Toquinho, Vinicius de Moraes and leading Italian artists.
