Off the coast of southern Tuscany, where the crystal-clear waters of Monte Argentario meet the protected marine landscapes of the Maremma, visitors can now discover one of Italy’s most unusual cultural attractions. It is not located in a historic palace, archaeological site, or contemporary art gallery. Instead, it lies beneath the surface of the Mediterranean Sea.
The underwater museum known as Casa dei Pesci has entered a new phase with the installation of five additional monumental sculptures near Monte Argentario, expanding a project that combines contemporary art, environmental protection, and sustainable tourism in a way rarely seen anywhere in the world.
