Austin’s Festa Italiana brings the Italian community together for its fourth edition

By: We the Italians Editorial Staff

Austin’s Italian community will come together on Saturday, September 26, for the fourth edition of Festa Italiana – Austin, an annual gathering designed to strengthen connections among Italians, Italian Americans, families and friends of Italy in Central Texas.

The celebration will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bella Mar Community Center, located at 12401 Bella Mar Trail in Austin. Organized by the Comites of Houston, the event has developed into a welcoming opportunity for the local community to meet, reconnect and celebrate its shared Italian identity.

This year’s Festa Italiana will once again follow a potluck format. Participants are encouraged to bring a favorite dish and something to drink, turning the gathering into a shared table built by the community itself.

The event will also give attendees an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Comites of Houston, the representative body serving Italians across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Representatives of the Consulate General of Italy in Houston are also expected to participate, adding an institutional presence to an event centered primarily on community and friendship.

Families will have plenty of reasons to attend. The Bella Mar Community Center includes a splash area and a large playground, making the three-hour celebration particularly accessible to parents with children.

The fourth edition arrives during an especially active year for Italy in Texas. Houston was selected as one of the Capitals of Italian Creativity in the World for 2026, highlighting the growing visibility of Italian culture, innovation and community throughout the region.

Festa Italiana – Austin reflects that same momentum at the grassroots level – bringing people together around food, conversation and a continuing connection with Italy.
