In case you missed it: Ariana Grande is Italian American, and she’s proud of it. And the Wicked superstar talked all about her upbringing in the most recent episode of Amy Poehler’s podcast, Good Hang with Amy Poehler. When asked by Poehler what her favorite Italian food is, Grande said, “Ooh, I have to say pasta.” She specifies further when asked: “Marinara … what my nonna would make.”
Grande’s nonna, Marjorie Grande, passed away earlier this year at 99. She remembers her by sharing funny memories with Poehler, but also through her grandmother’s favorite classic dinners that she loved making. Pasta with marinara is not only a simple and comforting dinner that uses up pantry ingredients.
