GeoInference, a company based in Italy, has developed an AI-driven computer vision system called BioSmart. Its goal? To provide remarkably precise estimates of both the quantity and quality of fruit and vegetable yields.
Traditional farming methods rely heavily on farmers’ intuition and visual assessments when forecasting harvests. Such approaches are often undermined by unpredictable variables like hailstorms, diseases, drought, or excessive rainfall. Without reliable projections, coordinating labor, machinery, and storage becomes a gamble.
