A new agreement has been signed in Italy to strengthen the promotion and protection of the Made in Italy brand, one of the country’s most important economic and cultural assets. The memorandum of understanding brings together the Foundation “Imprese e Competenze per il Made in Italy” and the Italian Historical Trademarks Association, with the goal of creating stronger cooperation between industry and education.
The initiative aims to connect younger generations with companies that represent the history and identity of Italian manufacturing. Through this partnership, historic brands – many of which have shaped Italy’s industrial development for decades – will collaborate with schools, training programs, and cultural initiatives. The project seeks to use the country’s industrial heritage as an educational resource while also encouraging career opportunities for students interested in business, manufacturing, and innovation.
Among the first actions planned is a national program of educational trips that will bring students to company museums, archives, and production sites belonging to historic Italian brands. Participants will be able to observe how traditional craftsmanship and modern industry intersect, offering a practical introduction to sectors that represent a significant share of the Italian economy. Additional activities include collaboration with the national permanent exhibition dedicated to Made in Italy and support for the annual “Maestro del Made in Italy” award.
The agreement also includes career-orientation programs linked to the Made in Italy Job Tour, an initiative designed to guide students toward professional paths connected to Italy’s manufacturing and creative sectors. According to the organizations involved, the project aims to improve awareness of the value of Italian industrial heritage while strengthening employability among young people.
Historic Italian brands are seen not only as businesses but also as cultural institutions that preserve knowledge, archives, and production traditions. Their national network includes museums, historical collections, manufacturing facilities, and professional expertise built over many decades. By opening these resources to students, the program intends to transmit technical skills and entrepreneurial culture to future generations.
More broadly, the initiative reflects a strategy to reinforce the global reputation of Made in Italy products – widely associated with quality, design, and craftsmanship – while ensuring that younger Italians continue to develop the skills needed to sustain this internationally recognized brand.
