A beloved Italian restaurant in Springfield is apparently up for sale after a 35-year run. After closing during the COVID-19 pandemic and never reopening, DiGiacinto's Italian restaurant on South Campbell Avenue is now up for sale, according to a Facebook post on the restaurant's page.
DiGiacinto's was known for its authentic, high-quality Italian food. Popular dishes while the restaurant was in business included the chicken alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, and the Philly cheesesteak. Nick Russo, a cousin of the owner, said in a Facebook post on the restaurant's page last week that the original plan was for DiGiancinto's to reopen as a downsized Italian market, but the owner decided to scrap that idea upon further reflection.
