A familiar feature of American roads could soon become part of everyday driving in Italy. After more than 20 years of waiting, Italian motorists are moving closer to being able to choose personalized combinations of letters and numbers for their vehicle license plates.
The initiative, included in a proposed reform of Italy's Highway Code, would introduce an option already popular in the United States, where personalized plates have become a distinctive expression of individual identity, humor and creativity.
