This summer Emily Vincent and Erika Piancastelli have taken their softball talents from The Boot to ... The Boot. But a very different boot indeed. After leading McNeese to a Southland Conference championship and NCAA regional appearance this spring, the duo made their way from Louisiana to Italy this summer to continue their softball careers.
Vincent, a senior pitcher and first baseman for the Cowgirls last season, jumped into the middle of a professional softball season for the team Forli Softball. McNeese junior-to-be Piancastelli, a dual citizen of Italy and the United States, returned to her birthplace to train with the Italian National Team as they prepared for this month's World Championship of Softball in Canada.
