LaStoria Trattoria in Stoughton closes after 20 years

A once-bustling Italian restaurant just outside downtown Stoughton has closed its doors. LaStoria Trattoria recently closed after 20 years in business. "With regret, due to declining sales, we are no longer open. Thank you for 20 years!! — Joe," the hand-written sign on the door read.

Joseph G. Lastoria purchased the restaurant, which was under different management, in 2003 from the Bornstein Fiduciary Trust. It wasn't immediately clear which year Lastoria took over the restaurant. For years, the restaurant at 577 Washington St. was a popular Italian place for the region. The website states the restaurant was "not your usual red sauce Italian restaurant."
