There's no need to go far to enjoy a fantastic Italian dinner at The Victor Cafe in Philadelphia.  This Philadelphia institution has been hosting opera performances for years. The company hired students to work as servers, and the shows are staged throughout the week.

The Victor Cafe has been in the family for over 100 years. The first owner, John DiStefano, came to Philadelphia from Italy in 1908 and opened his gramophone store near Dickinson Street. The shop sold Victor records and personal Victrolas. The newly immigrant Italians in the area often gathered at the Victor, and famous opera singers began to frequent it. The family's story is a fascinating one of loyalty and entrepreneurship.
