Purveyor of Italian Foods Buon’Italia Expands to Jersey City with Help of EDA

Lower Manhattan staple Buon’Italia has found a second home in Jersey City, thanks to funding from New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s (EDA’s) Premier Lender Program. The purveyor of imported Italian food has been wholesaling and distributing to NYC restaurants for nearly sixty years. In 2015, founder Domenico “Mimmo” Magliulo developed a plan to expand distribution and decided to establish a 27,500 sq. ft. facility right on Port Jersey Blvd.

The expansion was recently completed. EDA has approximately two dozen Premier Lender partners. One of their partners, Fulton Bank, gave Magliulo a loan with a nearly 26 percent EDA participation that brought his dreams to fruition.
