The city of Altoona is welcoming two new restaurants across the street from each other on Adventureland Drive. Jethro's BBQ and Splash owner Bruce Gerleman opened Jethroni Pepperoni, a new Italian restaurant March 21 at the old Pizza Hut location on the corner of Adventureland Drive and NE Hubbell Avenue.

"We've been looking to do an Italian concept in the city for a long time. My executive chef Dominic Iannarelli has been with me for 15 years now and of course all the Jethro's each have their own little specialty," Gerleman said. "We were thinking about doing a Jethro's Italian, but with that we decided we couldn't do any barbecue with this restaurant and it needed to be totally Italian."
