There are crews working inside the storefront next to the Nawab restaurant on First Colonial Road. What’s happening? Richmond-based Gelati Celesti is bringing its Italian-style ice cream to the Hilltop West Shopping Center. Founded in 1984 with one store, Steve Rosser bought the company in 2010 and has expanded to five locations.
“Our handmade ice cream uses less air and takes longer to make, so the product is denser and creamier,” said Rosser. “We keep 24 flavors available on a full-time basis and continually rotate 12 in and out. Over the course of the year, we’ll serve 175 to 250 different flavors.”
