White Horse brings a taste of the Old World to the county with a menu anchored by family tradition and an eye toward creating community. Fresh off a soft open in late March, the Italian-American restaurant, in Manquin, has a veteran owner intent on creating a family-friendly dining experience based on a family tradition of restaurant service.
"Whatever you do, you don't serve people food that you're not going to eat," said owner Josephine Amato, quoting her father's philosophy on food. "That has stuck with me forever." White Horse aims to fill what Amato considers a void in the local culinary scene by providing a quality steak, she said.
