Cardellino, chef/owner Brad Wise’s Italian-American all-day eatery and bakery in Mission Hills, was only open for six weeks last year before the pandemic arrived and shut it down in March 2020.
Now, as pandemic restrictions gradually ease, Trust Restaurant Group (TRG) founder Wise has been tinkering with the concept of Cardellino, which has only been fully open for about five of the past 21 months. Since September, Wise has closed Cardellino’s public bakery counter, restored its full U-shaped, 15-seat bar and eliminated the all-day menu, including weekday breakfast and lunch service.
