Forum of Italian American Educators

Nov 11, 2014 2352

Dear Friends:

As the president of FIAME, I welcome you back from the summer days to a new school year. You will find attached the 2012–2013 membership renewal form and dates for upcoming events that may be of interest to you. Please mark your calendars with these dates.

The tax exempt membership dues remain at twenty dollars ($20.00) for an individual and thirty dollars ($30.00) for a couple. I ask that you renew your membership for this year. I also ask that you encourage all Italian American teachers, secretaries, school aides, paraprofessionals, parent coordinators, and friends to join. If you need additional forms, please make a copy of the enclosed or contact me at [email protected] or at 914 779-1234. Anyone who is proud of their heritage is a valued member.

Because of your continued support, we are able to provide scholarships to exemplary Italian-American high school students who are entering college. To nominate a high school senior, you need only to contact the student's guidance counselor who will receive the applications in January 2013. Once the applications are completed and mailed, the scholarship committee will review them and choose the most exemplary seniors. To support these scholarships, we use the proceeds from our major fundraisers: the annual spring dinner dance and the journal. The yearly journal lists the names of the high school awardees from the previous year.

Through our meetings, contacts, special events, and annual dinner dance, FIAME maintains a vibrant Italian-American presence in the educational and cultural life of New York City and the surrounding counties. We are proud to bring the warmth of our Italian-American heritage to the diverse world we touch each day in our schools and in our communities.

Again, we welcome you back. You are a valued member of FIAME and we look forward to sharing this exciting year with you. Thank you for being a member of FIAME! La ringrazio per essere un membro del FIAME!

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Gorman President
