The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Chapter of UNICO recently announced the winners of its two annual scholarship competitions. Seniors Ashley DeFrancesco (Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School) and Michael Minniti (Union Catholic High School) received the SP-F UNICO Brian Piccolo Scholarship - named after former NFL player Brian Piccolo, who in 1970 died of cancer at the age of 26. The amount of the scholarship is $500.
In addition, four SPF UNICO Memorial Scholarships of $2500 each were awarded to Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School seniors Marlaina Martucci, Vincent Augello, Gianna Riefler, and Benjamin Root.
