
The Scottsdale City Council has approved plans to demolish most of the upscale shopping center known as The Borgata and replace it with condominiums.
Built in 1981 to resemble an Italian village, the Borgata is considered a Scottsdale landmark.
But on Monday, the City Council signed off on a general plan amendment and rezoning to allow the Residences at Borgata.
