Giorgia Efficace, one of the great officers of the Italian Consulate General in San Francisco, has been in Portand yesterday and today and will be in Seattle until Sunday to issue electronic passports. As you know, this process generally requires nationals to travel to San Francisco and present themselves at the Consulate in person. In fact, the passport office must take their fingerprints - which are then saved in the passport electronic chip.
Thanks to Giorgia, a sizeable numbers of citizens will be spared the time and costs of a long journey to California and are enjoying an on-the-spot service. 25 Italian citizens have been served in Portland in the wake of Ambassador Bisogniero's visit on March 10. Several nationals are expected in Seattle in the coming days. I want to extend a big thank you to Giorgia Efficace, as well as to our honorary consuls Andrea Bartoloni in Portland and Franco Tesorieri in Seattle for assisting our nationals in their respective States.
