Los Angeles Consul General Giuseppe Perrone has appointed Cavaliere Lino Pertusini of Santa Fe as New Mexico's second Honorary Consul, working with Rosalba Maniaci to represent the Italian Consulate in our state.

The duties of the office of Honorary Consul range from the promotion of Italian language and culture to the promotion of trade between Italy and New Mexico. Consular duties also include assistance to citizens who interface with the Italian government in matters relating to passports, visas, documentation renewal and citizenships.

Pertusini's appointment attests to a re-energized Italian community in New Mexico interested in celebrating and preserving its heritage and strengthening its ties with Italy.

Lino Saverio Pertusini was born in a small town on Lake Como into a family trained and employed by the finest restaurants and grand hotels in southern Europe. Following his formal training he continued the family tradition, managing some of the most acclaimed hotels and restaurants in the world.

Pertusini is currently a highly-respected Santa Fe restaurateur, owner of the Osteria d'Assisi and Pizzeria da Lino. In 1997 he was awarded the Croce di Cavaliere dell'Ordine della Repubblica Italiana by the President of Italy for his work as an ambassador for the preservation of Italian gastronomy and culture in the world.

Pertusini is looking forward to working closely with the Los Angeles Consulate and will surely be one of its most active and dynamic representatives. Contact information: [email protected]
