This weekend Collinsville celebrates food and city history with the 37th Italian Fest. Hosted by the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce, the event is from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. The festival takes place in Uptown Collinsville on Main Street.
According to the Italian Fest website, Collinsville has been celebrating the Italian culture and heritage of the city since 1984. Admission and musical entertainment are free. Opening ceremonies begin at 11 a.m. Friday and are immediately followed by the grape stomping competition. A Kids Korner with free activities for children will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
