The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere invites the public to see its annual display of “Il Presepio Della Solidarietà,” the FDNY 9/11/01 Solidarity Crèche, beginning Friday, Dec. 10 when it will be displayed on Casa Belvedere’s front porch.
The 18th century style handcrafted nativity scene was a gift of friendship and solidarity from the Naples, Italy Chamber of Commerce to the New York City Fire Department following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001. It was later donated to Casa Belvedere to become a part of the organization’s cultural collection.
