Casa Belvedere will unveil its annual display of “Il Presepio Della Solidarietà” — The FDNY 9/11/01 Solidarity Crèche — on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the Italian Cultural Center on Grymes Hill. The Il Presepio is gift of friendship and solidarity from the Naples, Italy Chamber of Commerce to the New York City Fire Department in honor of the victims of 9/11 and the brave firefighters, police and EMS workers who sacrificed their lives in order to save others.
The spectacular exhibit will remain on public display outside Casa Belvedere throughout the holiday season from Friday, Dec. 6 through Sunday, Jan. 12. In December of 2001, an 18th century style, handcrafted, 120-piece, 16 foot wide, 7 foot tall and 5 foot deep gift arrived from the Naples Chamber of Commerce to the NYC Fire Department.
