Passport Day in Minneapolis October 20, 2023

In collaboration with the Honorary Consul in Minneapolis-St. Paul and with theItalian Cultural Center di Minneapolis/St.Paul (ICC), a 'Passport Day' has been announced for October 20th 2023 at the ICC in Minneapolis for the acquisition of biometric data for the purpose of issuing a passport, instead of going to the headquarters of the Consulate General in Chicago. 

The citizens duly registered in AIRE in this consular jurisdiction will be able to access the service by making a reservation, to be requested according with the following instructions. It should be noted that 'Passport Day' in Minneapolis will be repeated periodically and therefore citizens are invited to request an appointment for the October event only in the case of a passport already expired or expireing within 6 months, or in the case of the first passport. 

Interested citizens must send by email to the passport office of the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago the appointment request form (click here) completed and signed, attaching a copy of an identity document of the applicant.

The request is personal and for a single appointment - passport.

In the case of minors, the form must be completed and signed by the parents who must also attach their identity documents. 

The passport office reserves the right to verify the request for an appointment and, based on availability and checks on residency, vital status and possession of the legal requirements, will contact the applicant to confirm or not the appointment. 

Availability is limited and requests will be taken into consideration on a first come, first served basis. 

The issuance of the passport is an exclusive competence of the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago to which the complete documentation must be sent, following the acquisition of the biometric data at the designated office, according to the details that will be indicated with the confirmation of the appointment and by the Honorary Consul during the appointment. 

Finally, please note that for children under 12 it is not necessary to take fingerprints: the documentation must be sent by mail, as indicated on the Consulate General's website, Passports section.
