
The Italian American Veterans of Luzerne County held their annual Memorial Day ceremony Sunday at the Independent Italian Cemetery on Stites Street in West Wyoming.
Other Memorial Day events planned for today include:
• Plains Twp. will hold its annual ceremony at 8 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, Maffett and River streets, Plains Twp. The Plains American Legion Post 558 Honor Guard will preside. Public is welcome.
• The 135th Ashley Memorial Day Parade will step off at 9 a.m. along Main Street. A parade fly over will be at 9:15 a.m. There will be no parking on the following streets starting at 8 a.m. until the parade passes: South Main Street, North Main to Mary Street, Mary Street to Brown Street, Brown Street to Ashley Street and Ashley Street to the Fireman’s Park.
