KENOSHA — The Italian American Society, 2217 52nd St., will celebrate its 89th Columbus Day banquet Oct. 13. State Rep. Peter Barca, D-Kenosha, will be the master of ceremonies. Each year the society honors an American of Italian decent whom they feel has attained much success and has brought honor and respect to the Italian heritage.
This year's honored guest will be Louis J. Covelli, recently retired after a 30-year career with the Kenosha Unified School District directing the Tremper High School bands. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The $30 ticket fee includes the cocktail hour, family-style dinner and dessert. To obtain tickets, contact Steven R. Torcaso, president, at (262) 658-4881.
