On April 11, 1968, Sister Angela Pia Camillotti, F.M.I.J., along with Sister Angela D’Alessandro, F.M.I.J., arrived in the United States to begin their mission, specifically in New Jersey, helping to educate the children of the Diocese of Camden, initially the children of Saint Margaret Regional School, Woodbury Heights.
After 53 years in the United States, Sister Angela Pia is being reassigned, returning Nov. 29 to her native Italy. Sister Angela Pia faithfully served the young children of Saint Margaret School until she was asked to move to Saint Joseph Pro-Cathedral, directing the nursery school on Federal Street in Camden. She continued her mission in New Jersey at Holy Cross, Rumson, as well as Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Atlantic Highlands, in the Diocese of Trenton; she then went on to teach at Saint William of York in the Diocese of Arlington, Va.
