The Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade Committee hosted its Honoree Dinner Gala on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Nanina's in the Park in Belleville. The awardees being honored in this year's parade are: Vincent Micco, Grand Marshal; Mel Priolo, Nutley Woman of the Year; Alan Genitempo, Nutley Man of the Year; Diane Stanzione, Belleville Woman of the Year; Eugene Romano, Belleville Man of the Year, Dr. Dominic Rubino, Italian Heritage Award; Gerard DiPopolo, Renaissance Man; Pasquale Custode, Italian Business Owner of the Year; Olimpia Garruto, accepting Lifetime Achievement Award for her late husband Louis A. Garruto; Alana Gabriele, Nutley Bella Signorina; and Kristen Paige Vitale, Belleville Bella Signorina.
The Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. The parade route starts at Belleville High School, proceeds north on Franklin Avenue and ends at Nutley High School.
