Italian flags lined Newark Avenue and Grove Street on Saturday as the eighth annual Columbus Day parade made its way through Jersey City's historically Italian-American neighborhood. Residents came out to Jersey City's downtown district on Saturday to celebrate Christopher Columbus' arrival in the America's in 1492.
The parade kicked off at 1 p.m. at Dickinson High School, made its way eastbound on Newark Avenue and then headed down Grove Street to City Hall.
