
Filitalia International, the nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to promoting and preserving Italian language and culture founded by Dr Pasquale Nestico in 1987, proudly announces the re-election of Saverio Nestico as its President during its biennial convention. Nestico, first elected as the 7th President in 2023, was unanimously re-elected to serve a second term.
Under Nestico’s leadership, Filitalia International has achieved historic growth, including: The creation of 6 new chapters across the United States and Italy (Miami, Denver, Manhattan, Umbria, Catanzaro, Milan); A nearly 75% increase in active membership worldwide; The establishment of Distretto Italia, the first formal governance body for Italian chapters; Significant expansions in scholarships, humanitarian aid, and cultural programming.
Reflecting on the past two years, Nestico said, “Together, we are writing a future that honors our past, strengthens our present, and inspires generations to come. Our work has never been more
important. We are not just preserving history — we are building a future where identity will be proudly known.”
Nestico’s vision for the next term includes expanding educational programs to reach nearly 5,000 students, launching a new organizational website, enhancing member engagement through improved communications, and growing membership to 5,000 by 2027.
