The great tradition of Italian puppetry visits Chapman University

This afternoon Dmitri Carter–from the renown Carter Family Marionettes–gave a memorable and informative demonstration on Italian-style puppetry to an audience of children, students and adults.

The presentation shed light on the technical "secrets" of this uniquely Italian tradition, as well as on its rich cultural background. The puppets showcased included: the Neapolitan Pulcinella glove-puppet, string marionettes of Pinocchio and Arlecchino, and the Sicilian pupi from Catania and Palermo.
