The Connecticut Lyric Opera is set to present Verdi’s ”Don Carlo.” The company will present the epic work in a production by Jan Mason and will star Daniel Juarez in the title role. He will be joined by Jurate Svedaite as Elisabetta de Valois, Galina Ivannikova as Eboli, Andrew Costello as Posa, and Steve Frederiks as King Philip.
The role of the Grand Inquisitor will be shared by Stefan Szafarowsky and Nathan Resika. Adrian Sylveen will conduct the opera. This production concludes the company’s 2018-19 season, which included performances of “Giulio Cesare,” “Carmen,” and “The Emperor of Atlantis.” Performances are scheduled for May 10 through 26 in Hartford, Middletown, New London, and New Britain.
