Festa Italiana 2020 is cancelled

Festa Italiana, Metro Detroit's family fun Festival which celebrates Italian heritage, is announcing the festival will be cancelled for 2020. After closely monitoring information from the CDC and World Health Organization as well as Governor Whitmer's "stay home, stay safe" order, event organizers, Joe Ventimiglia, Joe Vicari, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Michigan feel it is necessary to cancel the July 10'h - 12lh 2020 festival.

"We are deeply saddened to cancel Festo Italiana, which has been taking place every summer for 50 plus years, but know it is in the best interest. We are looking forward to bringing even more Italian heritage to Festa Italiana in 2021," says Joe Ventimiglia, event chairman of Festa Italiana.

Longtime vendor and partner of Festo Italian., Joe Vicari, owner of the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group adds, "Andiamo looks forward to Festa Italiana each year and loves partnering as a food sponsor. COVID-19 hos impacted nearly every business and industry across the nation and moving forward with this year's festivities would not be safe for vendors and attendees."

Festo Italiana, which takes places every July at the Freedom Hill County Pork, is a free family-fun event that celebrates Italian Heritage and features national and local live music, delicious food, a family fun zone, fireworks display, and tons of fun! Post headlining acts include The Scintas, Aaron Caruso, Austin Giorgio from The Voice, Mark Randisi, the sounds of Sinatra, Bellini Opera, and Italian Flog Throwers - Sbandieratori Ducato cilia di Sermoneta and many more!

Festa Italiana 2021 date is yet to be announced and will take place at Freedom Hill County Pork of the Michigan Lott, Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill located at 14900 Metro Parkway, Sterling Heights, MI 48312.
