Southern Italy is entering a new phase of modernization, with a growing number of companies embracing advanced technologies to stay competitive. Over the next three years, a significant share of businesses in the region plan to boost spending on digital transformation, automation, and so-called Industry 4.0 solutions.
This shift signals a turning point for an area traditionally seen as slower to adopt innovation compared to the country’s industrial north. The trend is clear – about one out of three companies in the South intends to invest in digital tools by 2027. These efforts focus on upgrading equipment, introducing robotics, developing data-driven processes, and adopting cloud systems that improve efficiency and cut costs.
