Downtown Birmingham is getting a new Italian option for lunch. Eric Chester is in the final stages of opening Ruscelli's in the food court of the Regions building. It'll offer classic Italian food, including pizza, pasta, paninis, gelato and salad.
"It's a small-time, small start, but I'm trying to do everything as fresh as I can," Chester said. "My pizza dough is made from scratch, my bread is from scratch, my meatballs are from scratch." The restaurant will hold a soft opening Friday, Oct. 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and then will open for its regular hours the following Monday.
